I've heard the mod 1300 barrel will fit the 1200. The 1200 muzzle is too thin to thread for chokes, but I think the 1300 is thicker or comes threaded for chokes. Can anyone comment please?

The barrels interchange. Dunno about thickness or chokes. I have a couple of both in 20 gauge

The 1200 did come with Winchokes on certain barrels............The only difference is the 1200 is a 2 3/4" gun and the 1300 is a 3" gun. The barrels will interchange but not the shells.

Getting parts for those old Winnys is a problem.
The 1300 was sure a nice pointing gun though!

Have a Poly-choke installed, I have one on my Win 1200 , they work really well. Some people don't like the looks of them, but they do function well.

You can shoot 2 3/4 on a 3". I beieve the actions and bolt lockup are the same; does that mean a barrel change will allow the 1200 to become a 3" gun?

The minimums for thinwall chokes in 12ga are .805" OD for a . 730 bore.

I own two 1300 shotguns. Neither has ever failed to go BOOM! This one has been used extensively.
