Hello,
I recently acquired a Winchester Model '92 in 38 WCF. Condition is fair. It has an octagon barrel. When I bought the rifle, it had a broken spring cover/loading gate, but the store supplied a replacement part. Upon replacing the spring cover, I found that the rib on the back of the new spring cover interfered with the actuation of the carrier and also caused cartridges to lodge against it crookedly.
Does this part normally require some kind of fitting in order to function properly?.
Thanks.
