my favorite flea market came thru this morning, a win. 1894 saddle ring carbine in 32-40 made in 1923 was put out and I was very close and jumped on it. normal wear on stock-metal with no cracks-splits and a ex bore. I have a 1894 rifle in 32-40 and this carbine in 32-40 will go very well with it. I will hunt with both a few days this coming deer season.

Great find at the flea market! No wonder it's your favorite one to shop at!

thanks for your kind words on the carbine, here is the carbine with my 32-40 rifle made in 1913 also with a ex bore.

I was recently fondling an old '94 that was a cousin of your new rifle.
It was a .30-30, flip up sights, saddle ring, steel crescent butt plate, good patina, hard use on the wood. It looked like cigarettes had been rubbed out on it. It had a crude number scratched into the reciever that claimed to be an ID# for the New Mexico state penitentiary. The tag claimed it was a gaurd rifle.
The price was marked $2000.00. I was fondling it when the owner said,"you like that rifle.?......$1000.00....i want to sell a gun today ".
Unfortunately, i have promised to help my #2 son buy a house......so i had to walk. I have been kicking myself ever since.
Congrats to you on your rifle though....love those SRCs.
