I recently purchased a Winchester Model 94 Big Bore XTR, top eject, pre USRA, in .375 Winchester. When the action/lever is closed, the lever touches the trigger stop plunger, but does not depress it. Is this normal? To shoot the rifle I must lightly squeeze the lever, before I can pull the trigger, and fire the rifle. What do I need to do to fix this problem. Thank you.

The trigger stop is there to ensure that the action is closed before it can be fired. It is normal for light upward pressure on the lever to be needed in order to pull the trigger. I wouldn't try to "fix" what isn't broken; just become used to it.
