I have recently aquired a winchester model 42 and was needing some help on getting its value. According to serial number it was produced in 1948. 28 in full choke barrel 3in chambering. Simmons vent rib. Standard grade i believe.

I checked some GB completed listings and my guess would be more along the 1500-2500 line.

Unless I’m missing something. GB prices can run low as they do not reflect shipping and transfer fees.

They also are before any GB fees to the seller which can make them artificially high by a bit.

I have owned several over the years, but when they shot up in value I sold them, making a pile of money over what I paid for them and bought a Remington 870 wingmaster in .410 that I think is a better field shotgun IMHO.
