Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone can recommend some good, Wisconsin-legal pepper or bear spray? The usual Sabre and Fox Labs offerings seem to be illegal in WI (since they contain UV dye). Here is a website with the relevant legal info:

I did see a Mace brand product specifically made for WI. Any experiences with this product, or Mace brand in general (OC only)?

Good News if you order SABRE RED - Their Pepper Spray Version - They'll ship you the SABRE RED USA formulation which does not contain UV dye.

This intrigued me because I like looking into legal statutes. That link you posted actually is so brief it ignores some important matters in the actual statutory law of Wisconsin. This is why I never trust "summary sites" for weapon laws. Go right to the source:
https://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/code/admin_code/jus/14

The key factor in this law is that it only applies to "OC products sold in Wisconsin." Internet ordering would solve that part.

The weapon carry statute doesn't contain the same language. It just says "contains a combination of oleoresin of capsicum and inert ingredients but does not contain any other gas or substance that will cause bodily discomfort."

So no tear gas, but UV dye is fine.

Kimber Pepper Blaster II. It is 10% OC 4 Million Scoville Heat Units with 2.4% Major Capsaicinoids. It does not have UV Dye and is legal in WI. This product has received excellent reviews in both gun magazines and street use. One guy said it saved his two labs from being attacked by a pit bull. A truck drive also used a first generation Guardian Angel Pepper Blaster to stop two muggers at a gas station.
