My wife is looking for a custom belt and holster for her Walther P99. Preferably it would match or compliment her red Brighton purse. Can anybody recommend a good custom holster maker?

Most of the gun leather oriented toward women seems to be either in the form of gun purses or for CAS. She would like something modern and stylish without being overly flashy. Think of something a character in an L. Neil Smith novel would wear as opposed to Louis L'amour.

I think you're going to have a hard time if you want red leather. Most of the colored leather is chrome tanned and I'm not sure hot that dye will get you to get the color red you want so they'll probably have to do 2 thin layers with veg on the inside chrome on the outside. Most holster makers don't have a dummy gun for the later model p99's so if it is a later one you might have to check into providing the gun or a blue gun for them to use as well. I'd talk to the usual names companies like sparks and alessi and see if they can suggest someone.

I do custom holsters, my wife and I just started our business, but have been doing it as a hobby for about two or three years. She designed a holster that works for her, and we call it the Megan Magnum. It is designed to be worn over the appendix, at 1 or 2 o'clock. The gun rides low and vertical. It works well for women with hips, and works surprisingly well for guys too. It has a steel-reinforced mouth and sweatflap, to keep the holster open after drawing. It also has snap belt loops, to make it easier to put on and remove the holster.

This is a J-frame revolver holster, being worn by my wife:

And this is a left-handed version for a Glock 26 (shown with a Glock 19 in it, since that's all I have):

We do a lot of holsters for women, and actually quite a few red holsters. We have an eco-friendly red dye that looks beautiful. We've also done pink holsters.

However, we don't generally make belts. I don't know where you could get a red one, but we're willing to talk about trying belts again so you could have a matching set. The last woman to order a holster from us was susprised that we actually took the time to talk to her - we talk to everyone, since each holster is made custom to each customer's exact specifications.

Our email address is in my sig line, below.
