UPS brought my Hatsan 95, 25cal, gas piston.
Thought I'd shoot a few down the hall way, get the open sights close, and see how far it would penetrate my phone book. All three rounds went through, my .177 went 220 pgs, the .22 about 2/3 of the way through, with a 11gr pointed. These were 25.4 gr round nosed. Glad I stopped to check, might have had to buy a new closet door.
The suns going to be out three more days, to crony and sight the cheapo scope that comes with it. And then do some destructive testing.

Those gas piston guns are pretty neat. I've got a 22 cal. Benjamin Trail with the Nitro Piston 2 system and it shoots various pellets at from about 736 fps for the heavier (16.7 gr.) pellets to about 832 fps for the lighter ( 14.3 gr. ) stuff. Word is that the 25 cal. hits harder but no personal experience with that here. So will we get a report on the chronographing and the destructive testing when you get done with it? And maybe your impression of the trigger?

I didn't think there was any interest in Hatsons so didn't report back.

It's got the quatro trigger. Seems fine to me, but I'm just a hobby guy. It is their good trigger group.
Now back to that phone book test. After testing in the back yard, i realized the reason those rounds went through, the .177 rounds had broke ground and I shot too close to them.
I shot 4 10 rnd groups averaged 25.4 gr @ 590.27 fps = 19.64 fpe
My .177 shot 19.01 fpe w/18.3 gr
The .25 cal is a wood stock and it's heavy. Fantastic grain in the wood. It's too loud for ratting.
To the eye and the camera, destructive test matched the .22 cal. I shot an out of date can of tuna, just holes through, nothing special.
The free scopes are a joke, I do like the open sights . I only shoot 10 yards so I can't comment on accuracy.
It's in the closet, I've learned how to shoot the crappy trigger on the 22 cal, and it's my plinking gun now. hatson 25 cal.jpg IMG_1301.jpg
