Things may be complicated for us gun enthusiasts in the next few months.
1-UBC no exceptions
2-no guns of any kind under 21 yo
3-special tax on guns & ammo to safeguard schools.
4-mandatory National 10 day wait for anything that shoots over 10 rounds. Even with CWL
5-Mandatory 21 day waiting period for “assault” rifles. Pending special investigation by FBI
6-no multiple gun purchases, unless they are pump shotguns or Revolvers.
7-several more questions will be added to the 4473
8-online ammo purchase limited to 1K rounds per trimester, where legal.
9-no National CWL reciprocity.
10-no bump stocks, pistol grips or special “assault” modifications of any kind.
11-no suppressors.
12-CWL must be renewed very 2 years.

Panic mongering isn't going to help anyone. Well, anyone aside from the anti's that is. And if Congress/the States go to far, the Supremes would have to weigh in, based on Heller, etc.

Having said that, bump stocks are likely toast in the next few months..

The OP is an optimist. If the antigunners get on a roll, they can do much worse things than that.

Let's see how much momentum they can maintain for the next 3-4 weeks. The alarming thing is that some Republicans, including Trump, seem to be willing to go along with at least part of the antigunners' agenda. This could only be due to their reading the political tea leaves differently from those on the pro-gun side.

You forgot making pistol grips illegal features on pistols.

Doubtful anything happens. It’s all huff and puff. Pretty soon the short fat guy with a bad haircut will not be playing nice for the olympics anymore and the news will shift back to Trump somehow creating the Korean conflict....they haven’t realized that since a treaty wasn’t signed that we are technically still at war. They will blame Trump for the new Korean War...and your list will only be spewing from Feinstein.

sigh! MagnumJoe why are you so weak of faith? Simply put it is impossible for all most everything on your list to happen with the current Congress and President. But since you made a list;

9-no National CWL reciprocity.

Ok with me. I think it is a bad idea.

10-no bump stocks, pistol grips or special “assault” modifications of any kind.

Bump stocks are a losing hand at the moment.

11-no suppressors.

Will require Congress amending and Trump supporting the changes to the NFA Law.

12-CWL must be renewed very 2 years.

Conceal Carry Permits are issued by the States not the Federal Government . The Feds have no say on this issue.

"At a White House “listening session” on school shootings Wednesday, President Trump argued that arming teachers and staff was potentially the best way to prevent tragedies such as last week’s massacre at Parkland, Fla.

Concealed carry, Trump said, “only works where you have people very adept at using firearms, of which you have many. And it would be teachers and coaches.”

Trump went on to say that his administration would look “very strongly” at allowing concealed carry weapons in schools, even though he knew “a lot of people are going to be opposed to it.”

It’s not the first time Trump has expressed the view that the only way to stop mass shootings is with more guns rather than fewer. During the 2016 presidential race, Trump pledged to end gun-free zones in schools “on my first day.”"

Trump doesn't understand GFSA 94.

Any state can license an individual to carry in a school. Actually many already have. It's entirely up to the state if they want to do that.

Controlling a country like America is like holding a large handful of soft clay. With a relaxed grip, you can hold the whole thing easily. The more you tighten your grip, the more will slip through your fingers.
"Gun Control" has already been way over-regulated. We already have laws they can't and don't enforce. What are they going to do, write new laws, then suddenly start enforcing them AND all the old laws, too?

Over-legislation has the net effect of increasing contempt for the law, particularly when it comes into conflict with social norms. Look at what happened with alcohol Prohibition.

This reminds me of the situation in Greece, where rifles are generally outlawed for civilian possession, and handgun licenses are very difficult to obtain. Yet the country is awash with illegal guns (at least 250,000 Kalashnikovs, by police estimates). There are places, such as Crete, where practically every family has a cache of illegal guns, some left over from the German occupation in WW2. Recently, even a government minister was videotaped firing an illegal pistol into the air during a holiday celebration, and nobody did anything about it.

America, in contrast, is generally law-abiding. But if more gun laws are passed, that people consider to be overreaching, they will start ignoring them on a wholesale basis. This can't be good for the country.

Prognosticating on the regions of new gun control regulations is the inducement by which they are enacted. The enemy is at the gate and besides the “usual suspects”, they bring with them the fear of out distraught children. Couple their cries with washed up RINOs who seek a microphone in a last-ditch effort to retain relevancy, and you are ready to agree to further erode our 2nd amendment.

Concentration on the weapon is not the answer. And from the signs I’ve seen from those in power, improvements can be made without forfeiting our rights.

The North Koren situation has been resolved by PRC. If USA attacks NC the Chinese will support theem, but if NC strikes USA China will not support NC. Problem solved.

Let's just double down on schools and "gun free zones". We'll put a few million of gold, silver, money, and jewels in our unlocked schools, over 200 days a year,to be
protected with that sign and an asinine assumption, . After all, with all the new "gun control", it will all be perfectly safe,
right?

Congress can go a step further by requiring schools to allow teachers and staff carrying firearms as a condition for receiving Federal dollars for education.

Congress can. Trump can't.

He's already tried to withhold funds to sanctuary cities and no enchilada.

If “our guys” get them started on said “roll” their days of being an elected official are over. You don’t “energize” your base by spitting in their face.

Still funny to me how some can use the “if it can save one life...” line but only use it on a single subject.

Use of drugs that are illegal under Federal law, well that’s OK. Provide safe haven for those who are currently breaking Federal laws, that’s OK. Have a revolving door prison system to save money, that’s OK. Alcohol and motor vehicles killing people by the tens of thousands per year and you don’t need anything except money to buy either, that’s OK.

But if we could save just one life, let’s take firearms away from everyone that is not willing to illegally obtain one...

May not be “Highroad” but that is the definition of retarded.

I will be shocked if 1 of them happens in the coming months. 2 in the next two years. You really are playing worst case scenario. Calm down a little. Don’t create a panic if there isn’t one. And right now, there isn’t one.

Be prepared to be shocked... #9.

I wouldn't be surprised if UBC except for family gets passed given they way Trump has been talking as well as some form of # 10.

What we could do is send a message to all levels of government by prosecuting these bureaucrats that didn't do their job.

How many times have we heard that there were red flags all over the place about this guy or that guy and no one did anything about it.

Fix that problem before attacking gun rights.

AlexanderA's point is the one that frightens me the most. The country works because most people respect the law and try to live within it. Destroy that willingness, let the government's legitimacy slip, and you're on a very dangerous path.
