Would this be a pistol or an AOW?

I'm looking at getting an AR in the (at least somewhat) near future, and I got a Magpul AFG for it, because my hands fit an AR better with that than they do the stock system or with a VFG. I was wondering if I put it on an AR pistol, would that count as a VFG, and thus make it an NFA firearm, or would it just be part of the handgrip and not an issue?

well... its called a "Angled Fore Grip" but I personally wouldn't risk it. Vertical or not its a forward grip. I wouldn't use it on a AR pistol.

I agree with Rail Driver. It is never a bad idea to send a letter and get an answer specific to you. Having said that, the subject has been discussed enough and enough letters have been secured to make me comfortable putting one on my own AR pistol...and AK Draco and Kel-Tec PLR-16. As has also been discussed before, the likelihood of it being an issue with the ATF is small compared to, say, running guns into Mexico and then trying to cover it up when one is used to kill a US agent. But I digress.
