Would you wear this?

I'm a guy who hopes he never has to even come close to pointing a weapon at another human being, evil or otherwise. I will if I have to, though. But displaying such a flippant attitude about a human life, on a T-shirt no less is, frankly, rather disgusting.

When my grandfather taught me to shoot with a BB gun, he put up a picture of Nikita Kruschev from a Time magazine cover as a target. We both took a couple of shots at it, and then he stopped and said, "This is wrong. We don't shoot at people. I'm sorry we did that ... we won't ever do it again." And I haven't. Not at Osama bin Laden targets at the range, not even at zombies. I don't love zombies, I just like bullseye targets better.

I wouldn't wear that shirt. And I don't think it does much to represent a High Road attitude. To answer the question directly, it certainly hurts the pro-gun cause.

YMMV, of course.
You sound like you had one, very wise grandfather!
Memories like that are relished forever in our hearts!

I wouldn't wear it and if I were with someone who was, I would be sporting an "I'm with stupid ----->" shirt. A bit classier and accurate.

The Tea party is Pro constitution I dont see how being part of that does any harm to the 2A.

I'm probably at one extreme, but I never wear anything with slogans, advertising, or anything that would be considered a freebie or swag item. Heck, I even took the badges off my SUV along with the dealership garbage. I like a low-profile-below-the-radar life.

The T-Shirt in question is sophomoric and does not contribute to RKBA. In fact it gives the antis more ammo for their cause.

My sister bought me a t-shirt years ago that read: "I got a gun for my wife. Good trade, huh?" My wife didn't like it much, and I could only wear it to gun shows.

I'd say no for that reason alone. If they want me to be a billboard, they can pay me.

I believe in the 1rst and I'll support your right to wear it, but it's not what I wanted to express.

If you were involved in a self-defense
shooting wearing that shirt, that might
not be an issue in the criminal court,
but if it got in civil court over wrongful
death, oh boy would the opposing attorney
beat you down with your own shirt.

Like Post #29 if I were next to someone
wearing that shirt, I would want my
Code:
   not
I'm ^ with stupid>>--->
shirt on.

I wouldn't. It looks like something these kids(unfortunately not much younger than me) I saw at my LGS today would wear. They were driving an old beat up Crown Vic Interceptor, one was about 100lbs overweight, the other about 100lbs underweight.... both open carrying with guns that were sagging off their belts. All they could do in the store was "police do this", "this is a police patch from Hanover county", "I carry my 1911 cocked with the safety off". These guys definitely just "talked the talk".

Sorry. It's just what I associate with the shirt.

Agree 100%. I don't need to be branded or stamped!

Not only would I not wear such a horrible thing, I wouldn't be seen in public with someone who was either. Bad juju for anyone at anytime, worse if your carrying and unthinkable if you got into a situation where you used your gun. Make my shirts plain please, I don't advertise for anyone.

No, I would not wear that shirt. As a gun owner, a responsible gun owner, I hold myself to a higher standard than I hold the rest of the world to. This is a personal choice. When a person owns a fire arm, they hold an incredible power, faster than sound, kill you from yonder kind of power. That, in my opinion, is nothing to be flippant about. A shirt like that makes the impression that gun owners are a bunch of inbred rejects with low IQ's and anger issues. I have some family members that would wear that shirt, they also drink before shooting, and hit their children and their animals, and I have nothing to do with them. I am hard line because of the responsibility I have as a gun owner, my fire arm makes me more cautious, less likely to be reckless. If a citizen was on the fence about gun rights, and saw someone in that shirt, it could very well be enough to push them to the other side.

That shirt is a good way to alienate anyone who might otherwise be supporting of the 2nd amendment.

It also trivializes the responsibility that each of us takes on every time we make the decision to carry or to use our firearms in defense.
