Hiya Guys :) ..
Check out what fell in my lap from our local gun Grapevine, a really Purdy original configuration single stack Romanian Romak 991AK variant from the mid 1990's w/ some really nice looking thumbhole furniture on it. It's in beautiful condition and I'm guessing it was probably someone's safe Queen. It came with three original hard to find single stack magazines, a really nice aluminum Plano rifle case and just shy of $200 worth of Wolf soft point ammo (785 rounds ). I picked this up as another investment opportunity four possible resale later because you rarely see these single stack AK's as most have had the receivers hogged out on them to accept double stack mags & I have a sneaky suspicion that these single stack AK's in their original unmolested configuration will continue to go up in value as time goes on and for $600 I just couldn't pass it up :) ..

I really hated seeing those work-around rifles in the store during the ban years----so I don't know.

It looks to be a nice rifle though, so enjoy it, whatever happens.

Single stack/double stack, still illegal in NY. Enjoy. Collector prices really depend on what one is interested in and willing to pay. Might not be a bad idea to hold onto to see what happens.

Wow indeed gsbuickman... Very nice, and I would have had a hard time passing it up as well, in my collecting days. I remember selling Chinese MAK-90 rifles in the early 90's for as I recall around $225-$250 NIB 7.62x39 or .223, your choice. The wholesale cost was way under $200 I believe. I bet all of the folks who told me they were junk back then, might reconsider today. Again, nice score.

Single stack/double stack, still illegal in NY. Enjoy.

I was years ago wanting to live upstate, but between the taxes, and especially the firearm laws, I stayed just a bit south of Erie... No way I'm giving up this, or my other 'assault' rifles/large capacity magazines. Shown below would have the heads in Albany explode, especially since I keep a 50 round magazine in my evil black 'assault' case. Crazy as this seems, I can't believe places like CO/NV etc have worse firearm laws than PA. CRAZY. I'll pop off some 5.56 rounds Galil style for you brother.;)

Never cared for the single stack AKs but for $600 this might be a decent investment somewhere down the road.

Nice gun, in great shape, quiet interesting.
As far as the collectibility....A gun store owner once told me while I was trying to sell a Marlin 880SQ, "sometimes 'rare' just meant nobody bought them because nobody wanted them then and nobody wants them now"

The money is in the unmodified pre-ban stuff right now, I don't see the unmodified ban-compliant stuff going for any significant money. Who knows what could happen in the future though.

Oops, I forgot to mention this also has a decent scope mount on it but the optic that's on it is just a cheap Leapers pos with basically no eye relief to it whatsoever so it will be filed in the garbage can accordingly before I find something more appropriate for it :) ...

Even with the NY Safe Act you can have a "assault rifle". Either registered if you owned it or if it's a featureless not registered. So no pistol grip, flash hider or bayonet lug. No biggy. I had a SAR-1 AK that met the Clinton AWB. So I bought a Saiga take off butt stock and replaced my pistol grip. My AR is a target model so all I had to do is take off pistol grip and add a spur. Then use 10 round mags. But for now SKSs and Mini 14/30s are no problem. Just use 10 round mags.
