Perhaps not surprisingly, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune seems to have a fact wrong in the following story:

http://www.startribune.com/467/story/1036038.html

The goings-on are bad news, and the shooter seems a little skeevy as portrayed in the story, but check this out, courtesy of Jim Adams, Intrepid Reporter:

Bartlett was waiting for police and directed them to the basement where they found Storrusten dead, with a 50 mm handgun a few feet away.

[SARCASM] Wouldn't a 50 mm handgun be really dangerous and difficult to shoot? [/SARCASM]

Thought some folks might get a chuckle at a media member's expense. Enjoy!

One of these? Lot easier to handle recoil than that 50mm anti-aircraft handgun!!

What?? you couldn't handle a 1.97 cal. handgun?? 1.97 inches is just about where I start considering dumping the derringer for something SERIOUS.

Thats cute.:D

I'm thinking maybe a 1.97 cal handgun might have been overkill? Just a thought.

OR...well, wait....Was his brother-in-law superman? Did it say one way or another socal?

A true one-stop-shot hand gun. A little heavy though and not very concealable. :)
