Were bullets for the .45 in WW1 FMJ, or were they swaged lead? I want to reload for my 1917 S&W, but I want to shoot the bullet it was designed for. Thanks for the help!
FMJ's, but a 230 grain cast bullet won't cost you as much as buying jacketed bullets. 4.5 grains of Bullseye is a nice light load for 230 grain cast bullets. Easier on your 90 year old revolver.
