Im getting to the point where I have to chose what sights I want on it when I order it.

Im planning on getting a Springfield Armory XD-40, They have 3 options of sights.

1...Regular dovetail
2...Trijicon
3...Heinie Tritium Slant Pro

What is the function all all of these & what is best for personal carry & target shooting ???

Regulat dovetail- Just like it says "Regular" Good for range use can't see in low light

Trijicon- In my opinion the best night sights on the market. Good for range use and awesome in low light. plus a twelve year brightness warranty.

Heinie Titanium- Lower profile for less snags when drawing.

I have one and I got it with the Trijicons. The Heinie's look better in my opinion, they weren't available when I got mine. I wouldn't let either one of them keep me from buying a gun with them on it. Mine haven't ever snagged so I don't know if it's that a big deal. You definately want one or the other N/S though.

I have the Heines and the rear moved on me the first time out. I removed it, cleaned the slide and sight, put on some red Loctite, and re-mounted it. Hasn't moved since. I don't think it is a Heinie issue though. Would have likely occured with any sight I had in there.
