We hang with chains to allow the steel to angle downward, I don't know if conveyor belt would allow that. I have some rolls of conveyor belt from my 31yrs of working for a manufacturer I can try. We've mounted some hanging inside a vertical tire and will probably do some more that way.

I'd be interested to know how it goes for you. I think if you use the same extended bolts they would still hang with a slant.

me and my dad built a big gong with a 2'' peace of plate. Dad welded two heavy d rings on the back and used belt to hang it from a junk engine cherry picker we had at the range. The plate had good angle and if you twist the belt it will turn the plate left of right some.

I've got a slab of road work covering, which I've been told is ar400, that's about 3/4" thick and 2'x3'. If it didnt weigh something like 150lbs I'd take it to the range.....
as is, it's waiting for a place I can put it out, way too far away, and leave it there.

still not sure how I'm gonna hang that thing, it don't ping when it's sitting on the ground.
