I'm looking to see if anyone is interested in training on rifle marksmanship per the Rifleman program of the Revolutionary War Veterans Association (click on the Rifleman link in the top frame). I'm an NRA-certified rifle instructor and I've shot a 240 out of 250 on the Army Qualification Test of Fred's M14 Stocks.

Course of fire would include instruction on the fundamentals of marksmanship, dry-fire training to get comfortable with the fundamentals, 1" squares at 25 yards to hone skills, and at least one iteration of the 25 yard Army Qualification Test. Total time is under 3 hours, total ammo 150 rounds. Would take place 1230 to 1530 on a Sunday afternoon.

Cost free for the first time, as attendees will be my guinea pigs ;) I'd like to limit it to 4 attendees at first.

No testosterone, no mousegun comments; just low-key rifle instruction for you and an opportunity to hone my instructor skills for me.

Anybody interested? Any and all serious suggestions welcomed.

Depending on the date, I'd be interested. NC is a little far to go, but Yorktown will be an easy drive from up here.

I'm going to tentatively plan for Saturday, 19 Nov (also National Ammo Day) or Sunday, 20 Nov.

My gun club has twentyfive lanes with an RO that calls us hot/cold. We could start mid-morning Saturday or 1230 Sunday. I'll have to see if there is a turkey shoot scheduled so I can schedule around it (they have a nasty habit of closing all 25 lanes for those because the turkey shooters go cold every 2 minutes).

I could maybe handle 6 people max.

How's that weekend sound? I'd like advice on date/time.

Thanks in advance.

Sunday

Sunday would be best for me, since I may be working (selling ammo on Nat Ammo Day).

I've got plenty of rifles and ammo if you need more, and I've got targets from Fred as well as a printer-friendly 8.5 x 11 version that I made.

I'll start recruiting the riflemen - I think I may have at least 2 people who would be interested, if not more.

I've notified the 5 who are part of this inaugural group. Based on how this goes, and if we can find another location that will accomodate more folks, I'd like to make this a monthly clinic.

Nothing wrong with LGC, but I'd like to do this at a private location in the future so we don't have to worry about waiting 20 mins to go "cold", worry about getting enough contiguous lanes, worry about proper guest v. member ratio, etc. If anybody has or knows of a farm or private property where they would allow 10+ folks to spend a Saturday shooting on a regular basis, please contact me.
