Looking up relic dug cartridges and happened to stumble on one for sale, until today iv'e never heard of the Agar(coffee mill grinder) repeating gun.
There were actual rifles that had a coffee grinder built in the stock so I guess there were two versions of a "coffee mill" gun..?If those Ordinance Dept. guys were able to see what we have today I wonder what they would think about using too much ammo? Inventors in those days were working like crazy to design something faster than singleshots and the government was worried about using too much ammo. Typical bureaucrats even then. Out of touch with the real world.
I kind of remember the name "coffee mill gun" but knew nothing about them. I learned something new today also.
That was a Sharps and for a while there was one issued to each Yank unit. There were actual rifles that had a coffee grinder built in the stock so I guess there were two versions of a "coffee mill" gun..?
