I just got back from a double-action revolver match.

In the parking lot of the apartment, a guy I've never seen stopped me and asked me what street the building was on and what a particular apartment number was. I'm not the friendly type and naturally suspicious of strangers. I told the guy the street, but had no idea of the apartment number. The guy was on his cell phone and volunteered that his brother was inside, apparently threatening to cut himself (at least) with a knife.

I didn't see anybody in the hall before I got to my apartment. I had my hand on my gun and was very cautious on the way in.

It was certainly nice to have my Glock 22 IWB. A nut threatening himself with a knife can become a nut trying to stab you in less than the blink of an eye. I'm now short a godsister in Chicago on account of a crazy boyfriend with a knife.

You can never be too careful.

I'm having a little trouble following your story.
I'm not sure why.

1. I get home from a match.
2. A stranger stops me in the parking lot. He volunteers that his brother is threatening himself (and maybe others) with a knife.
3. I happen to be carryin my Glock IWB (as well as my K-38 in a bag).
4. I'm glad that I'm armed in a place where a crazy person is apparently running around with a knife making threats.
5. My godsister in Chicago didn't have that option. She's dead, after having been stabbed to death by a crazy person with a knife.
6. The end.

Good advice. I was suspicious of him as I am of all strangers. I kept an eye on him until he moved out of range, as well as on the rest of the parking lot. I was ready to draw if necessary.

I later heard somebody calling somebody's name in the hall. I didn't go out to see if the cops came. I had no desire to become involved.
