Thanks fellas, I have two Brend Knives. The other one is smaller and I use it. I have not been able to talk myself into taking this one out to use and I don't do wilderness camping anymore either.

I figure, were it mine, I'd have two choices:

Maintain that exceptional finish on the blade by saving it as a cabinet-queen. Worthwhile alternative.

Or

>>>>Spoiler alert, purist collectors and new-in-box nabobs avert your eyes from the following:<<<<

Do the dent-in-the-new-pickup-truck route and just take it into the back yard, dig a hole with it, return inside for a hone and then carry it happily as it has "already been *dented.*"

Yes the pins are hollow on most of this model so that you could lash it to a pole and make a spear. Here's a shot of my smaller Brend which is the user. I bought it used and so I don't worry about taking it out and cutting with it. It is an older model 2 with a 7 inch blade and sawteeth. I saw a good deal on it and could not resist. You can see that the pins are hollow on it. They have full tapered tangs as well.

OK, I give up trying to upload an image.
Just look below where you type your text. You will see the Post Reply button. Just to the right there’s an Upload a File button. Just tap the Upload a File button and it will open a small window . Tap the middle that says Photo Library. That will take you your photo files. Pick the photos you want then tap the top right where it says done.
Your photos will appear below your text. You can now add them to your text.

In the past I inserted links to my Google Photos. When do that, the photo sppears in preview, but doesn't show when post.
I don't have any photos in this forum's library. I'll check that out. Thanks!

A blemished Ontario RTAK-II with a damaged tip, and cosmetic dings on the spine that I picked up many years back. I re-profiled the tip, spine, and while I was at it, the full tang handle as well. I copied my Condor MoonStalker/MoonShiner handle profile as I really like that shape for my hand. I then re-scaled it with Green Juma Mamba Snake Scale thermoform polymer material with Kirinite Starlight Green Glow material for the inner liners. Lastly I went with a neon green acrylic rod for the oversized handle pins for looks more than performance, as I believe the completely epoxied on scales will alleviate some side load pressure on them, but time will tell I am sure. Not for everyone's taste, but it's what I wanted to do at the time.
