Yugo SKS, new in box, what vendor has them?

anyone know of a good quality source for Yugo SKS,new in box? I was going to buy one from Atlantic Firearms but they are all out and they don't know when they are getting anymore in. I want to stay away from Century.

Yugo's were made for the military, hence you will not find one "NIB" like you would the old Norinco's, which were made for commercial sale. I assume you just mean excellent condition???

J & G Sales did have some in excellent shape. They were $229 each. You might also try Classic Arms.

Well Atlantic Firearms had Yugo SKS listed as new, never issued, still packed in the grease. To me that's new in box, that's what I meant.

Fburgtx is right. With milsurps, there is no "new in box." Your best hope is "unissued" condition, which basically means it had been rearsenaled. Classic Arms still has some "excellent" ones from Samco. but the true unissued condition ones are pretty well gone (that's what I obtained, but I got mine about 2.5 years ago).

Century won't do much to a Yugo SKS- they're simply an importer on those. It isn't like the AKs, where they are assembled from parts kits. The Yugo SKS is imported whole.

Try J&G sales, i drove up from Phoenix three weeks ago and got to hand pick mine from from what they had. Mine was arsenal refinished in excellant condition, great buy at $229.00, haven't had the time to completly clean the 5 lbs of cosmoline it's packed in, just the bore and it looks beautiful

i would recoment you add the $10 hand pick option, they will get you a very good one.

$375 for a SKS? The online gun shops are sellling them, unissued for $245 max.

which one is the best? Samco, Aimsurplus, or JG Sales? I'm leaning towards Samco since they have matching numbered unissued rifles.

I bought my unissued about 2 years ago for a whopping $180. At the time it was about $80 more than what the issued and well used ones were going for so I thought I got a good deal. To see what they are going for now really makes me happy.

If you see a yugo marked from Cherry Imports in S.C. go for it. Last spring I paid 300 (at least 50-100 too much) for an unissued one. Actually got it from firemunky in the gunbroker ad Drew referenced. Advertised as straight from the factory to the cosmoline vat to the arsenal. Nothing on my rifle says different. Not a ding on it, no evidence of firing, scratches, etc. i.e. NEW. Bonus was the teak stock.

Those prices are a bargain. In gunshows they are now around close to $300. Get them while available.

anyone order from Samco? My local gunshop has his FFL on file with them and he told me to just order from them and have them ship the gun to the gunshop. But on Samco's website it says I need to submit a copy of my drivers license to verify age and residency. They are not open now so just looking for anyone who ordered from them before.
