Got meself a Zastava M76 DMR 8mm Mauser, original Yugoslavian make. Haven't seen any of its kind around yet, only "riflestein" types, as in "franken", i.e. US-Yugo hybrids (Century, Ohio, etc.) Is it hard to come by? Why? And how good overall is this rifle? Sure, I did see some articles, reviews, videos and blurbs but not much from actual shooting community. Trying to educate myself here. Thanks for any inputs.

Is it an old Mitchell Arms import? Be careful- great rifle, but the BATF&E was trying to track owners a few years back ( parts issue, Section 922 IIRC).

Thanks Gripper. Don't know if it's a Michell, don't think so. Came through family connection. Seems indeed full Yougo make in 8mm Mauser, all parts marked with same number, including the wood stock and furniture. Came equipped with ZRAK scope (tritium source now exhausted), 4 additional mags, canvas sling, OD canvas bag with 4 mag pouches, 2 large pockets for loose ammo and shoulder sling. How far a few years back? If not BATF kosher? What then? Track as track can, you know the say about rifles and the prying thereof from cold, etc., etc.. Thanks for the input.
