I have several Nikons and vortex scopes and they have a zero reset turret but I have no clue what its for or how to use it.

any ideas?

so what if say my 100 yard zero is adjustment 6 and I turn them back to 0 and want to shoot at 200 yards which is 8 then do I turn it to 8 and now im at 200 and if I want to go to 100 I go back to 6?

Some of the scopes have custom dials calibrated for a specific load. Others require you to chronograph YOUR load and enter the data into a ballistics program and print out the data.

Once zeroed for 100 yards you simply move the dials the the number of clicks needed to be zeroed at specific ranges. Taking it back to zero returns you to a 100 yard zero.

Through experimentation you can probably use it without having exact data. Even with data supplied from a ballistics program I'd still shoot at those ranges to confirm.

here you go

you loosen the screw on the top and pull up on the turret till it is loose. than you turn it back to zero push down and re tighten the screw.\\
