Poor restroom hygiene ends in knife fight

Those men among you who indulge in the woman-enraging provocation of not putting the loo seat back down after taking a leak should count yourselves lucky you're not in Fort Worth, Texas, where some people take the matter of good toilet habits very seriously indeed.

Just ask 25-year-old Morgan Jackson, who was with two drinking buddies in the car park of the Tumbleweeds Sports Bar last Thursday evening when an infuriated toilet user charged them with a knife "because he apparently grew angry that one of the men didn't wash his hands in the bathroom", as the Houston Chronicle explains.

Indeed, so pissed off was 27-year-old Eric Jennings Kisiah that he stabbed Jackson three times in his left torso and once in his back with an eight-inch knife which was subsequently recovered close to the scene of the incident.

Prior to the attack, Kisiah "confronted a group of three friends at the bar because he was upset about one of them not washing his hands after using the restroom", according to the police report. He "called the men names and told them that they were dirty" before leaving with the threat to "slash their throats", as one of the men recounted.

When the three pals eventually left the bar, Kisiah launched his assault from behind a shrub where he'd being lying in wait. He was restrained by "several men" until the cops arrived.

Jackson was later reported to be in "good condition" following surgery at a Fort Worth hospital. Kisiah was cuffed on "suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon" and held in Mansfield Jail with bail set at $20,000.

My thoughts...

1) Where was the situational awareness, especially after an encounter with a crazy man?

2) Bet he was glad his buddies were with him.

3) File this one away to recite when the anti types cite guns as the root of all evil. It's not about what tool is used, it's about the criminal act.

If these guys were going out for a night of drinking, opposed to a drink with the guys. Then alcohol can cover your awareness a LOT. But ya, after the confrontation I'd have been on edge.

Back in 1968, after returning from a 13-month tour of duty in South Viet Nam, I ran into a high school buddy of mine, who was home on a 30-day leave after going through Marine boot camp. He kidded me about having enlisted in the USAF, but we were still friends. I suggested that we go "tip a few" at a local tavern, and off we went.

After having a few beers while sharing "war" stories (he had none, other than what his Drill Instructor put him through), we both had to pay a visit to the "latrine" or "head".

After stepping up to the line of urinals and taking care of business, I zipped up and stepped over to the sinks and washed my hands. My Marine buddy had merely zipped up and stepped over to the door of the bathroom. I asked him, "Aren't you going to wash your hands?" He grinned, then replied, "No need to! The Marines taught me to not pee on them!"

(Okay, I won't give up my "day job"! Oh, wait! I don't have a "day job"! I'm retired!)

Yep, don't pee on 'em. By the time you make your first head call, you're three to four beers into the evening and having a good time with your buds. SA goes down the drain with the body filtered beer. BTDT
