First of all I always try my brass to 1.755 . To get max cartridge overall length I need to trim my brass to 1.760. I cant get the ogive of the bullet where the rifle likes so i want to extend a little. I am still safe enough to just make the rest of the amo. Just dont go over saami?

I don't mean to be rude, but can you try re-writing your original post? I find it hard to follow.

I would keep trimming to 1.755 and seat the Zmax to the cannelure. What is the OAL loading like this? I would imagine it is in the 2.200 range, maybe as much as 2.250. What accuracy loss do you see when the ogive isn't exactly where your rifle "likes?"

You don't have to seat to the cannelure. Make sure you don't jam the bullet into the lands unless you really know what you're doing. You'll probably run out of magazine length before you hit the lands.

Forget the cannelure. How many match bullets have you seen out there that have a cannelure? If you are going for accuracy then just load them to what is most accurate. I have loaded thousands of .223 stuff for my ar and not one of them was crimped. So long as you have proper neck tension you won't have a problem.

What would be the proper neck tension technique? 1/8 turn on the die or the standard 1/4 turn? So the reason for cannalure is full auto, full auto saftey and manufacture saftey? I had great accuracy from nosler 55with cannalure with just over half moa. Ogive 1.875 was max coal. These zmax are just a little different but better price. I am getting another 5hun zmax. Ill try without the cannie. I guess trim length for cannalure wont matter then. Just back to .005 back from max.

Accuracy improved moving the bullet up. 010 without using cannalure. Accuracy improved. I cant get the bullet ogive any further forward without going over max coal. First five to ten shots were good so i blasted the rest except the last 2 and there was no change in bullet seated position. Thanks for the tipd guys.

With an AR magazine, you can move the bullet out to a maximum 2.250" COAL if you want, and you have the freedom to play with the minimum to maximum COAL to suit your rifle's sweet spot, if it has one.
Trim your cases to standard min/max, but as long as it doesn't exceed maximum, it's not relevant, if you do not crimp.
