Really they do exist and we come across them every single day. The apocalypse is under way! No they aren't the physically dead half rotten bloodied corpses that run around trying to eat your brain to survive which the movies portray. They are the normal looking suit & tie wearers, the jean and t-shirt wearing dads, the warm up wearing joggers, even the skin tight short shorts wearing bicyclists. They blend in very well and we hardly know they are there until they begin to speak. These aren't the physically dead, but the mentally dead or comatose. These are the zombie hoards that roam the streets spewing forth mantras and catch phrases with no real meaning or fact in them, just regurgitated mush that they dine upon day in and day out. This is where we find ourselves in America, in a literal war of words, fact vs fiction, wisdom vs emotion, defense of individual rights vs complete reliance (slavery) to government.
How do we combat this apocalypse? We can't use catch phrases or mantra's, we need cold hard facts. Facts deal death blows to these "media fed zombies". Yes they will try to dodge the facts, try to divert to emotional responces, try to trap in some circular argument, but facts remain just that, FACTS. Emotion is not all bad in combating these zombies and can be a powerful weapon but it must always be surrounded with truth.
Unfortunately people on both sides of the gun control debate can fall victim to the zombie mentality. Let us make sure that when we are presenting our case that it is filled with facts and truths and not simple opinion and mantra.
