Howdy
Yeah, I love S&W 22 Rimfires.
Left to right, K 22 Combat Masterpiece, shipped about 1953, K 22 shipped 1935, K 22 shipped 1932, the most accurate of the bunch, K 22 Masterpiece shipped 1953, Model 17-3 bought brand-spanky new in 1975. I just had the Combat Masterpiece at the range yesterday.
Model 17 8 3/8" barrel, shipped early 1970s. That long barrel makes it muzzle heavy, but the oversized target grips help steady it.
I frame 22/32 Heavy Frame Targets. The top one with the Bekaert Grips shipped in 1940, the one with the standard grips shipped in 1923. These are smaller framed guns than K frames, but they were the first 22 Hand Ejectors S&W made after the tiny Ladysmiths, so they were called Heavy Frame.
Model 63, shipped around 1980.
Model 617-6, shipped 2003. I really don't care for this gun at all. Butt ugly, and I don't like full length underlugs. I replaced the butt ugly factory rubber grips with after market wooden ones, but it does not go to the range much when I have so many classics.
