Isn't that Ron Livingston?
I'm not really a 1911 aficionado and there's really only one gun I'd be interested in if I won the lottery, a Smith & Wesson Model 915. The first handgun I ever owned.
Yeah. Good movie

I already did a few months ago, but I'll say it again. First bad experience was with my Reserve unit, when for a very brief time I was issued a 1911A1 instead of an M16 because I was my gun sections M60 gunner. The weapon was WWII vintage and totally worn out and I barely qualified with it. Honestly, I think our unit's RO fudged my scores because the pistol was in that bad a shape.Interesting story? Care to share?
Would like to have an Ed Brown Executive Commander in, you guessed it, .38 Super!
Probably get a matching one in 9mm. too![/QUOT

That’s what I did...... Three Browns, 45 acp, 38 Super and 9mm top to bottom. All configured the same, ambidextrous safety (I’m a Southpaw), thin grips, wide notch rear sight, good bead front sight and short trigger. View attachment 849153
Hear, hear!^^ Here's man with impeccable taste.
Not that those aren't nice but you should look up member bac1023 his is a amazing collectoin.Bilbo463 either you won the lottery or found a fast horse, those are beautiful, I'm Emerald with envy ( a cut above green).
What's the difference between the Executive carry and the Cobra carry, besides the price tag?

This is exactly what I said to a buddy of mine who has a couple of Nighthawk's.Course a lot of people would rather buy 5 mediocre guns instead of one good one. Spending the same amount of money in the end.
I agree. This is exactly what I said to a buddy of mine who has a couple of Nighthawk's.
Nice guns, but I could buy 5 Glocks and some extra mags, for what he has in each Nighthawk.
And spending that money on those guns hasn't made him a better shooter either. I still whoop his butt everytime we get together, and do it with a lowly, box stock Glock 17.
He would have been better off buying a decent $500-750 factory gun and spending the rest on ammo, and put the time in to get good.
The Nighthawks are pretty though.
If owning the Nighthawks makes him happy, who are you to judge? Maybe his goal isn't to whoop your butt shooting. Who are you to say what someone else is better off buying? This is exactly what I said to a buddy of mine who has a couple of Nighthawk's.

Interesting how any thread pertaining to 1911s inevitably turns into someone saying that another is "better off" buying a Glock (or Glocks). You've just made the case for some statements some other members made in another thread.
And when the topic is any higher-end or expensive gun, someone always quickly comments on how they can outshoot the guys with those guns with their own less-expensive guns. Do we care?
Personally I've never met a women who appreciated a 0-60 kind of a guy.the Corvette guys were doing 0-60 in 6 seconds, and for whatever reason they seemed to attract a lot of good looking women.

I'm beginning to think that if I created a post about the best lure for fishing a Glockateer would post a picture of his gun with fish hooks on it.

Yea, thats alright. I wouldnt have to keep them in a fur lined flap hoster and worry about them getting dust scratches or BBQ sauce smears on them. But you would still be stuck with 5 mediocre pistols.

Well I can't agree more with this statement, in my 40+ years of handgun shooting I've owned maybe 5 or 6 Colts, everyone was a shooter. The only "high end" guns I've ever fired were 1911s. Maybe I'm just not an aficionado but I didn't notice any particular difference between any of them and My RIA. Although I'm sure the difference would be more noticeable in terms of long term wear and tear, I just can't see 5000 dollars in a gun.
