One Glock to rule them all

Question was what glock not what is better or preferred. I would take glock 19. All the comparisons to others are kinda silly and thread will get locked. The 1911 or others are not bad or unreliable just what glock.

In seriousness, Glock would stick with the Glock 17. It's their first model, and it's the one they can still sell to anybody.
As for versatility , I agree a Glock 20 or Glock 22 would be best bet, but Glock can't be counting on their customers to swap barrels, because if they stick to just one model, that means they'll only be manufacturing barrels for that model.
I've shot a Glock 17 , handled it, and I'd honestly feel comfortable with it if I was issued it or went to a competition. Granted I don't own a 17, but it's the vanilla flavor of Glock. It's all-aroundness reminds me heavily of the Colt 1851 back in it's time, it's the gun that everyone knew they could depend on.

I'd have to say the G20. I don't own one, but it's my understanding that with conversion barrels, it can shoot .40 and .357 Sig. Probably could do 9mm too, with different mags and a little modification (not that I'd ever shoot 9mm).

I love my police trade-in 22 gen 4. I use a 9mm conversion barrel for cheap plinking, and I carry it with the standard 40 barrel in the winter. So the 22 would be my answer. I would probably buy three or four more if I didn't already have a wish list a mile long.

Lol I forgot the responses ANY Glock related post gets. I don't ask this as a fanboy. I only have one. I appreciate them for what they are. I have the 26 to carry when I feel like it. Main reason I have it is almost every police and military personnel carry them. So when/if a 2nd civil war breaks out it's basically "plug and play" magazine wise for me. I just collect as people drop off. Kinda morbid I know but let's be honest. There's probably more Glock mags around than there are total guns of any kind.

If Glock ceases ALL production... I'll open a beer.

Bit of a Party Pooper aren't you?

Seriously the only Glock I have ever shot was my buds 1st Gen model 17. He still has it and no he won't sell it. I don't blame him either. Excellent pistol. I did own a Glock in 357 Sig for about two hours I bought at the GS. Another friend saw it and had to have it. I never shot it and its one of the few guns he has actually hung on to.

If I were to buy a Glock I think a model 17 Gen 3 would be my first choice. I like the 9mm round and I like the slightly longer barrel.

My first Glock was a G19. It is a great gun and I will probably never part with it, but my preference is the G20.

I bought a Gen4 G20 3 years ago purely out of curiosity about 10mm. A month or two later it became my everyday carry.
I really feel that the G20 is the most versatile model in Glocks lineup.
The range of available ammo covers almost all needs and it ever reliably fees and fires 40 S&W without any barrel swaps or other modifications.

It has to be the G37. I don't understand how the best one wouldn't be a full size, ten round capacity, non-standard caliber handgun. It is the epitome of perfection.
Thank you for having me search for a 37. I didn’t know which one it waso_O:fire:

Don't care who disagrees , glocks are great. If they went down to just one I would have to say g20, also known as the best glock (best 10mm too in my opinion). If it could only be two, add the g30.
No, not a fan boy by any stretch of anyone's imagination. Glocks just work, I don't get anyone hating on the original tactical Tupperware . simple operation, carefree finish, unbelievably reliable and good capacity with mags that really are better than most others at any price. Plus the g20 makes me look awesome when I appendix carry it in my skinny jeans :barf: - joking of course (or am I?)

I recently switched out my Colt Defender as my EDC in favor of a G19 or G42 combo. The 19 is my preferred but at work I need to pocket carry. But in spite of that but of information. I'd pick my G17.

I could replace both the 19 and 42 with other options that are really similar but the 17 is currently my favorite full size 9mm by a good bit.

G19. Although if my G48 with the Shield Arms 15round flush fit mags is reliable (haven’t received them yet). I would probably say G48.

I guess one way to look at it for me is what ONE have I kept and which ones have I regretted selling?

Same gun, a 30. Sold two and regretted both sales so the third one's a keeper.

I just shoot them so damn, inexplicably well while all the others seemed like work to me.

Even then, were Glock to fold their tents it wouldn't put a hitch in my giddy-up 'tall.

I know my endorsement is less than *ringing* but, I WILL say that it is my absolute favorite in one respect... It's my favorite *bump-in-the-night flashlight!

Lots of folks would celebrate Glocks demise. Then, they could more easily say their gun is the best pistol out there.....

cause they surely can’t say it as long as Glock is in business!
 :cuss: :fire: :neener:

We just worry about their owners. They take perfection then spend $1,500 making it unperfect.

Blasphemy! Don't you watch the talking heads? They apparently think the person a G19 isn't perfect for doesn't exist.

Not really. I carried on as a work gun for about 20 years. No complaints with it. It just was anything to get excited about.

I don't really get excited about any gun. I don't really get any thrill out of owning any particular gun. I don't really get a thrill out of shooting any particular gun are they're pretty much all the same to me.

So if that's where I'm at with it why not get a Glock?
