I ordered my 20 inch 223 wylde upper.

Happy birthday!
Good price! Dual charging huh? I like their side charge uppers. Much easier to operate when there is a conventional scope mounted

Happy birthday and congrats on the new upper, CoalCracker!

Let us know how it shoots when you get the chance.

Every one that I have seen shoots great. My best friend had a pistol length that was golden at first but then started short stroking. We messed with it for a bit then sent it back. They sent him a new one and it's been golden ever since.

My other 20 inch is a 556 1:7 twist. I did notice in my Hornady manual the COL loaded longer. Im going to load some with .556 data and compare too. It does do well with 55 grain bullets. So im good there not needing 69 grain or heavier.

I've got an 18" stainless heavy barrel in my cart right now that I'm dithering on. It's an 8 twist with mid length gas system. If it was a 7 twist with rifle length it'd be on its way to me now

Nothing wrong with a 18" stainless 1-8 twist barrel. I have been very happy with my 18" stainless 223 Wylde 1-8 twist PSA barrel. It does very well with quality 69Gr ammo.

Im curious how it will group VS my 556 ones.
If you're expecting a big difference, you're probably going to get disappointed. It's still a bargain barrel. The difference between a NATO and Wylde chamber's accuracy potential is small potatoes compared to other factors.
As to shooting a 20" 223/5.56 AR I've been shooting my now scoped service match rifle. Man is a 20" H-bar profile with an A2 stock smooth and pleasant to shoot.

Nice!

I knocked out the last 3 seasons of The Walking Dead back in the spring after giving up on the show mid way though. I figured I should at least watch the ending.

I had a craving for a Bear Creek Arsenal side charging upper after finishing that show.

The 18" SS PSA uppers shoot fantastic for the money. The 77 grain OTM's shoot well in them also.
Yes they do. I have tried 69Gr Federal Gold Medal, Hornady 75Gr HPBT and some 77Gr OTM's. I forgot what brand the 77Gr ammo was now. While the 75Gr and 77Gr did well, my barrel preferred the Federal 69Gr Gold Medal best.

More proof that one should always try as many different bullet weights and brands to see what their particular barrel does best with.

What kind of optic are you thinking?
I'm looking at a Bushnell AR optic 1x6 for a light weight rifle and I've got a standard 3x9 languishing in the safe for a heavy barrel.

The problem is I've got other projects that need optics as well.
