Retail Powder Prices (Ouch)

Be happy with those prices. Around here most Hodgden powders are selling $50/lb. or more.
Around here they’re not on the shelf at all, at any price. :(

Mail order is pretty much the only option. Driving 200+ miles each way on the chance a big retailer might have something for “less” costs more than HazMat and S/H put together. Running the math is essential.

that’s why your neighbor with 8# jug from the 80’s was $200

I paid $39.99/lb for HP-38 today at Bass Pro & $89/1000 for Winchester SPP. Remington SPP were $94/1000. I probably didn't need the 2k primers & two pounds of hp-38 but I know I won't ever run out now. Wife can consign them at LGS if I kick the bucket before I use them up.

We Yanks are grateful for the few imports we are continuing to receive for our northern brethren. Hang in there. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel.*

* but, just in case, get off the tracks. The light might be an oncoming freight train.
Maybe it's a mallard train...

The Sportsmans Warehouse in my area when through the roof on prices also. I was able to get 7lb of Win 244 before the prices went up. I paid mid 30 for them.
They have lot of primers at exorbitant prices. My honey hole dried up.
I'm in pretty good shape for now on primers and powder, thankfully.

I hope to swing through one of my honey holes tomorrow and see what I can find…
Ditto - but it’s going to be Saturday and I don’t actually have any honey holes so it’s going to be the pawn shop, a couple of LGS’ and PassBro. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if I find a brick of primers and more than one or two pounds of powder, total.

Between working Friday morning and then heading to the funeral that afternoon I have 9 or 11 counties to cover. Of course most have more cows than people. Try to catch sportsman’s too.
