Looks like guys are saying the starline has about .3 to .4 tenths more case volume over the Hornady brass,
be interesting to see....i was seeing some pressure on the starline at 31.5gr, which is a little over hornadys max with the 108s. If Im feeling extra frisky this weekend I might go buy a box of factory arc ammo....stuffs 46 bucks tho.....Looks like guys are saying the starline has about .3 to .4 tenths more case volume over the Hornady brass,
Just seen some 105 at buds for $24 lol to bad we can't order ammo anymore. The 105 Hornady ammo is a bit warmer then the 108 or 103 some guys get overgassed if not using a adjustable gas block. I'd have to check but think I seen guys running about 31gr in gas guns, don't remember how much more powder for the bolt gun data vs the gas gun. Interested in what fps you get out of your gun, I'd be real happy if I can get 3k from a 85 to match old 250-3000 power, I think for hunting the extra speed with the 85s maybe better then the 100+. At least with the arc you don't have to worry about bullet construction as much with the lighter bullets like bigger 6mms, most hunters seem afraid to use anything less then 100 grains on deer but can tell you the 85s drop deer drt.be interesting to see....i was seeing some pressure on the starline at 31.5gr, which is a little over hornadys max with the 108s. QL thinks you should be able to get close with 85s and a 20" tube. I WISH I hadn't forgotten my chrono today, id have much better idea of whats going on if I had velocities.Just seen some 105 at buds for $24 lol to bad we can't order ammo anymore. If youd like to try some of these 106s I've got Ill send you some. They are the only vld types I've got right now besides what troy gave me......actually If anyone would like to try them let me know, I bought 500 so I have enough to share lol.I have 300+pcs. of Hornady brass and 100pcs. of new Starline brass I have not opened yet. I do have 50pcs of Hornady that has now been fired twice in this rifle and loaded for a 3rd time so will see what happens. Then as I posted it looks like my rifle does not like the 87gr VMAX. I do also have a fellow shooter from out league that is willing to give me 25 105gr Lapua Scenar to try. Which I will do but I think I want to do it with a better powder than what I have.
Looks good , do you boil it or use the heat gun to bend it.Fixed the cheek riser issue. Made another one out of those cutting boards I bought a while ago. Stuff sucks to work with but it makes really nice risers, they're good and stiff.
I also got rid of the last few high spots in the barrel channel and torque the action down to 60 in/lb

Thats cool! We have a decent selection of screws, but none of the specialty stuff. One of our Ace stores has a "gunsmith" bin with specialty screws. I like the cheek riser, I found some on clearance a while back for an AR stock that I easily modify for other stocks, probably thinner than yours and not as sturdy but currently I've done 3 stocks and using through bolts and sleeve nuts I've not had any problems.
I put some foam under the riser to beef it up.
Looking good!Today I finally got to run my newest hand loads. The same brew as previous, but I seated my bullets 0.010 further out. In the photos my worst group was also the first, and also Hornady box ammo 108 gr. ELD- Match. Then I began working my 5 shot hand load groups starting with 25.4 grains of Leverevolution, which gave me my smallest group (upper left). I’m going to stick with this load, maybe +/- a couple tenths grain and see what shakes out. Clearly the other charges aren’t ideal with this bullet and rifle.

I just shot a ladder of LVR 28.5 to 30.0gr using the Hornady 105gr Match. I am seeing extractor marks at 29.4gr and heavy marks at 30.0
I can make that happen, gonna be hunting bullets tho, dont THINK i have anymore 88gr vlds.Showing some promise, once the barrel stabilizes and you tune the loads some should be shooting some pretty tight groups. Like to see some flat base bullets shot.
What bullets were these?Spent some time at the range today, AND i remembered my Chrono!
I was shooting alot better today, and im pretty confident that the groups fired are indicative of what this rifle will do with these bullets.....to a degree. There was a 1/4" wobble in my positive that i could clearly see. Id guess 90% or so of my shots were broken with the reticle in the same place, but im sure i didnt get them all right....that second group for instance i wasnt consistent on.
Charges were 28.5, 29, 29.5, 30gr
All shot on the top row.

Velocity ranged from 2650-2750 with SD running 10fps and below.
I need to get some primers with harder cups, and try my higher range loads again also. I had a couple primers leak last time in the 31 range, but it looks like 30ish gr is a good spot to be in.
These are 106gr "seconds" from midway. Pretty sure they are 106gr TAP bullets. What bullets were these?
Sorry missed this post some how....Don't remember if you said what's your max mag length, be cool to try some of the 110-115s since you can get far shoots and the high altitude may make them fly pretty good. Is yours a 1-7.5" twist like my shaw
