Which 6.5 Grendel Bolt gun to get.

nice what scope you thinking. my next cz will either be that rifle for a 223fs.
I'll have to get it in hand to see how large it actually is. Amazingly I can't remember what the a non-magnum size CZ feel like. I've got a Leupold vx-f 2-7x32, a pair of burris 3-9x40, a Nikon 3-9x40, and a intensity 4-12x44 on hand. The scopes on my other guns are all significantly larger, so aren't really an option Imo.
I may end up buying the gun a new scope, if it shoot well enough to warrant. I have no idea what I'll get at that point. Probably a 4-12x40 or something similar. Gonna try keep weight down tho.
There's a fs Ruger .270 in a local shop I keep eyeballing, if it weren't a . 270 I'd have bought it by now.

i think that 2-7 would fit nice, i you feel you need more power then get a new one. how much is that ruger.
That's sorta what I'm thinking. The Burris are nice scopes but heavy, the Nikon might be an option, but 9 isn't much more than 7 lol.
He's asking either 750 or 850, I can't remember off hand. I was gonna go check him out this weekend I can ask again, it's literally been a couple years.

that is probably the perfect scope for the cz, and or most light deer rifles.

I had no complaints with my Howa mini. Super accurate and easy to load for.

I have the Howa mini in an MDT chassis, very nice rifle. It's been hit/miss with the CZ 527 for me; 7.63x39 is very accurate, same in .223 can't hit a banana boat 50' off the Kona coast with it

Honestly I think I'd have preferred the Howa in a way, simply because I've had a couple and I'm confident in the quality/accuracy (also prefer the safety and push feed a little), but the barrel weight and length I want just don't seem to be available thru sources that won't charge me an arm and a leg for. Shipping.
I've wanted a 527 since highschool too lol, and if I have to tinker I'm ok with that....yes, I am!

Came into this thread to recommend the CZ 527, and I'm glad to see that you've ordered one.

i can see loonwulf try to take down one of them cows , i would probably do it. but the grendel should be great or the goats and rams he's got, neck shot on the pigs should suffice.
That with a CDS, or a VX-freedom 3-9x40 CDS might be the ticket. Im thinking my 2-7 might actually seem a little small, but it might not also.
Well, Ill see what NEEDs doing, and tinker as needed. It WILL get a bedding job done, and after that well see if there are any other tweaks that need to be made.
Ill otherwise be posting gratuitous gun porn for all to enjoy, might even get to do some hunting with it
Im antsy to get a hold of the thing lol.
I shot a few goats, and a couple Axis with my 20" AR grendel, and from THOSE experiences id be totally comfortable shooting even the largest bulls weve taken with one, as long as the ranges could be kept short, and i wasnt having to deal with a previously wounded animal.
Im positive the Gren can punch a harder120 class projectile clean thru any pig im likely to encounter out here, ours dont seem to armor up like some of the mainland hogs do. From a bolty id expect that even the blunter 140s might be use able at shorter ranges.

i think the sierra pro hunter 120 would be great or the grendel for hunting, the bc is not bad for a lighter flat base 6.5 bullet. loonwulf if your willing to try some of the wolf steel case in the cz.
Ill see if i can get the steels here, I know theres hornady on the shelf, and maybe some ppu, not sure what else.
Ive got 123SSTs on order, but I was also looking at trying the 120 speers, and the 120 SPH, since ive had good luck accuracy wise in both bullet types in other calibers.
