All the guys I work with meet up about twice a month to show off new gun purchases, and waste some ammo. One of the guys brought out his brand spanking new Remington 700 SPS tactical. He slapped on a Harris Bi-Pod and a... 40 power scope (almost so excessive it's useless!)
This ain't my usual style of gun, I'm the 1911/shotgun guy of the group... But I'm an ok shot with a rifle (2-3" 5 shots at 100 yds.) We took the first shots with the Remmy at 300yds, drilling clays. They are all or ex-military so they are doing fine...
My turn. First shot = hit. I look up with a wide grin, and say "must've been lucky I guess." Crank the bolt, Second shot = hit, Third shot = hit... you get the point.
My buddies decide to throw up a 4inch Shoot-N-C at the 300 yard line to formally see how well I'm doing. After 5 5-shot groups, my average was a hair more than 2.5" at 300 yds... Not impressive for some, but awesome for me.
I look at the gun's owner and say "If you ever get rid of it call me first."
He says, "Well man, I'm left handed... That's a right-handed bolt."
I say "Price?"
He says, "I got $900 in it, so I'll trade you for your Bushmaster..."
I'm now the proud owne of a Remington 700... My question to you is, "Have you met a gun that feel like you are shooting a laser? You point and click, and a small hole appears right where you wanted it to every time?"
