I am shooting out of a stoeger coach gun supreme. 2 years old. The steel fallers are 1foot square steel targets that fall over when they are hit. They are about as heavy as pushing a full pop can over. They are no farther than 10 yards away. Occasionally we have poppers that throw up a empty...
But then I can't see a damn thing through all that smoke:)
Really I have not thought about it. Since my revolvers and rifle are smokeless powder I thought I would keep shotgun the same.
I guess I should have been more specific. I am actually trying to load down. I am using these for cowboy action, so I just want enough shot and charge to knock the faller over.
I am starting under the published minimum and working up to something I feel is good for me. I was curious if there...
Hello all,
I am have finally got all my components together to start reloading shot shells.
My question;
Is a flattening primer still a good indicator of pressure getting high in shot? Or is there something else I should look for?
And yes I am using published data and working up.
This is more for curiosity, has anyone tried loading slower powders in their handgun cartridges that they shoot from rifles.
For example; the bullet weight, and diameter of a .357 mag and .308 win are similar.
The bbl length and action of a Ruger 77/357 and a Ruger Gunsite Scout are similar...
I phoned Hogdgon and he said "Take it out. The powder is engineered with moisture content. If it loses it's moisture it will burn to hot and fast."
From the horses mouth.
I guess it's good to be wrong once in a while. I almost forgot what it feels like:)
I grew up with my grandparents owning corner grocery stores, so it is in my blood to rotate stock. I even now rotate the dishes and cutlery in my kitchen it's that much in my blood:).
I live in the pacific northwest, and it is pretty damp in the winter months. My shop where I reload is...
Hello everyone.
Just a simple question; after I open a bottle of powder, I throw in a silica gel pack to keep it dry. I can't see a problem with it, but does anyone know if there is anything that might be wrong with it?
Thanks for the info. I think a bobbed spur is my only option. I wanted the hammerless DA only for one less moving part.
It's funny (for me), when she shoots my M&P 9mm the brass come back at her head. Takes the fun away. I want her to get used to shooting, and have her own handgun that is...
I am looking for a DA only revolver for the wife. 38/357. Simple to use.
Here's the trick; barrel length 4 1/4" minimum (Canadian laws).
Does anyone know a manufacturer that fits the bill?
Thanks.
Thanks for all your input. Yes, handguns under 4 1/4"ish barrel need a prohibited licence, which they don't give out in Canada any more. The person selling has a 4", 6", and the 8 3/8" barrels. 2 out of 3 aint bad.
