Received mine this week. It does shoot low at 5 to 7 yards .I found that putting the fiber optic front sight on to of the rear sight notch brought the POI up to acceptable with some bullseyes. I like this for it gives quick on target hits for defense if that is needed. I am using Hornady 80...

two screws for rear sight for Model 70 Winchester 30-06 made in 1970

Trying to locate a rear sight for a Winchester Model 70 made in 1970. Winchester no longer carries this nor does Jack First who they referred me to. Does anyone know a source for this rear sight whether OME or after market? Thanks, Byron

I have about 5 pounds of 231 on hand I have used H110 with good results for a factory equivalent load. 1200 FPS seems a good load to hike with and target shoot with. Will load this weekend and post accuracy results.

I have a Ruger Single Seven. My bullet is a 100 grain Hornady XTP. I wish to use Winchester 231. I would like the velocity to be about 1200 FPS. Any suggestions? Also would a standard small pistol primer be adequate o should I go to a small pistol primer?

Well t was a fun experiment .I loaded 5 and the group at 50 yards was about 2 feet and all 5 keyholed .I shall stay with my 55 grain Hornady SP!
