Jay, I forgot to mention in last post, that i do plan on having BUIS on this rig. Iron sights are a must on any gun in my opinion. It's just that at my skill level irons are a 50 to 60yd. limit, keeping snap shots within the 4-6in. heart lung area.

dprice, Thanks for the info. Like I said I'm not into all the screws with Amega system. The other mount is for rear and over the reciever. I'm looking for a rail system for in front of reciever. Thanks.

Slicksleeve, Thanks for jumping in. I believe you are correct as to the strength of that mount. This would not work for me anyway, as I'm sure that you could not use the peep sights over that type of rig. Thanks again

Hellow to all, I would love a Remington 7600 308P. I want this set up to have the option of a scout scope. I have seen the Amega set ups, but don't like the idea of all those screws. Does it sound possible to just have a Smith drill and tap for a low Picatinny in front of reciever or not...

Need a little direction guys. My yougo underfolder stock has over time become loose in its up and down direction when in the open position. It has never been used hard and or droped. Would anyone know a fix or is this normal and I should get use to it. Thanks.

Thanks guys, I pretty much new about the 1:9 barrels and all. I just wondered about somthing I herd on some other sites about, threding the barrel to reciever, proper setback length, and having the bolt narrowed in rear..etc...
