44 Mag: Seating Die Crushing HP Nose

I noticed a similar problem with 9mm one time. The bullets would deform up into the seating die causing erratic OALs. I made a totally flat seating plug from a spare I had laying around. Chucked it up in the drill press and hit it with a grinder and some files. Its not quite as precise, from...

    380 cases split

I load a fair bit of 380. Never seen a split. I have seen a few in 9mm though. No real rhyme or reason to it. I figure either the case had been fired many times, or simply a bad batch of brass. Most of my brass is range pick-ups, so I have no idea of its history.

Magguts for S&W Shield 1.0 - Any good?

I use one of their kits in a Walther PPS m2. It runs like it should. Never a failure to feed or any other undesirable event. An occasional failure to lock back on empty, but I get that with stock factory mags too. I am sure it has more to do with my thumbs than the magazine. Word of caution...

No muzzle flash despite vigorous 9mm pistol load?

Here's a 9mm PowerPistol shot I recently captured indoors.... Outside it's hardly noticable.

    9mm roll crimp?

A number of years ago I bought some Hornady .380 auto dies that came with a roll crimp. And no taper crimp die. I was pretty disappointed. IIRC, no such indication was given on the packaging. I havent purchased their dies since. Why is it being included included in standard sets? Better...

Cor-Bon, Buffalo Bore, Honey Badger & Double Tap Ammunition?

I've used some Buffalo Bore ammo. Its good stuff. The couple loads I have ran through a chrono matched their advertised numbers very closely.

Question for 10mm reloaders using revolver only

I am currently experimenting with a 200gr XTP load at 1.350". So far it shoots great out of my Blackhawk with the little bit of working up I have done indoors. It'll be interesting to see the effects on chrono numbers once the weather gets better around here. I think I might be seeing some...

    Revolvers chambered for semiautomatic cartridges

I dont feel like that is gonna help much with a simple taper crimp.

    Revolvers chambered for semiautomatic cartridges

Already on it it. I have a 200gr XTP load at 1.350" in the works. Once I get the powder charge up where I want it then I gotta start looking at whether the bullets are pulling out if the cases though. I'd imagine a shallower seating depth means less grip.

    Revolvers chambered for semiautomatic cartridges

I recently picked up the 10mm/40sw Blackhawk. Kind of an impulse buy I suppose. I like the 10mm round, but as a reloader, I got sick of trying to find my brass in the far flung, often overgrown, netheregions of my local range. I sold my 1911 a few years ago because of it. So, as I also was...

    Out of Primers

I've used SRP's in 357 mag. No issues.

    Titegroup success stories

I mainly use it in the low pressure "special" cartridges. Works great there. The powder is not bothered by excess air space often left in those cases. I get very consistent velocities vs other powders I've tried. I have also had success with plated 9mm ammo, but I prefer other powders when they...

    Bersa Thunder & Firestorm .380s

I had one a few years ago. It produced a sharp, stinging recoil that the wife and I did not appreciate. Just the nature of straight blowback I suppose. Tried downloading ammo for it, but then it became unreliable. Sold it. Now we have a PK380 for her to shoot at the range.

    Unloaded surprise

There are a surprising number of people out there that believe simply dropping the mag unloads the gun. Which is why, I am sure, the mag disconnect safety was invented.

What is the most recent knife you bought?

20cv/g10 Griptilian. Walked in looking to buy the CrookedRiver, but changed my mind. Better ergos, better steel, better price. Maybe next time.
