The EMF wire spring was a real pain to install. Had to push hard against the spring while turning the screw. I found the proper spring on, of all places, eBay. Installed easily, now I have a spare.
Thanks
Chore Boy or equivalent here too. Just saw the tag from some I picked up at an outdoor market 49 cents for 2. Real copper. Bought a lifetime supply. Shoot a lot of lead and they saved me a lot of work and brushes.
After about 300 rounds through an Uberti 1873 cattleman I had a problem with the cylinder not locking up. Everything looked fine, bolt and bolt trigger spring, until I was able to easily break the bolt spring in half with my my old fingers.
Hunted for a replacement and ended up with a wolf wire...
Finally had a chance to break it all down today. Mechanically everything is fine.
I'm not sure if this was assembled by Uberti or Taylor but there was some type of thread locker on a few screws particularly the trigger guard. Putting a dab of loctite on the bolt screw should solve my problem...
The problem is that the screw loosens after working the action 5-6 times. Another 25 times and the screw is backed out a full turn. Not from vibration or recoil but simply from pulling back the hammer. I understand checking screws once in a while but I can cock the hammer and watch the screw...
Makes sense. I didn't think about the threads being on the right side and didn't even think about excess oil being the cause. Will give it a try. Thanks
Yesterday I picked up a Taylor/Uberti 1873 Cattleman New Model. I have been fascinated with the history and it's single action. The last one I held was in the 1950's silver and chambered in roll caps.
After cleaning up the shipping oil and working the action (not dry firing) I noticed what I...
Based on news reports I've listened to for the last few years, including current events, could someone with more knowledge than I please explain what a “long gun” is.
At first I wrote it off as just another scarier word than rifle but though it referred to the 5ft. black power weapons from the...
Yes it is legal but probably because the idiots never put that much thought into it.
In Connecticut, I can have my legal Glock 21 and a pre-ban 13 round mag in it as long as I promise not to have more than 10 rounds in it.
In a stop if I had 11 rounds in the mag I would be a felon. If I took a...
Growing up in the 60's and 70's I asked myself the very same question for the very same reasons.
A few glocks and kimbers etc. later I only have to ask myself one question. Has my 60 year old j frame .38spl ever had a failure to feed, fire, eject or go into battery? Not many other things in life...
Just took a NIB Glock 17 gen 4 to the range. This is my first gen 4 but I have 4 Glock's. That does not make me an expert.
Before I left I changed to connector to a 3.5lb which I had and grabbed 200 of my reloads. I have never had any problems with my reloads with any glock I own (G21-G30-G26)...
I had a similar problem only with .380 auto. After blaming the brass, primer pockets and then the primers (cci 500) I figured out it only occurred with one gun, a Star Arms of unknown age. Primer indents looked okay but if I took all of the failures and fed them through a Ruger LCP most all went...
If I need to go to S&W I certainly will. Initially dismissed them when they list a new Model 36 for $749 and I paid $89, yes in 1970. Didn't want to get charged $19.95 just for asking.
Have one ordered from Numrich. Design, size and picture looks correct with flat end no spring and not hollow...
