My son washing down my deer. Big bodied, loaded with cockleburs and a funky rack. Used my PSA AR10 308 with a Dead Air Nomad Titanium suppressor at about 150 yards. Loaded with 150g NBT over Varget. He went about 5 steps. Very happy with this setup.
It's hard to give a recommendation without knowing the intended purpose and the ranges involved. I'm a big fan of the 6.5 Grendel. My sons and I have taken many deer with them. They work great on large upper midwest deer as long as you don't extend the range past around 250 yards. After several...
My new PSA 18" AR10 .308 with a Burris E1 4.5-14X42 scope and Dead Air Nomad Titanium Suppressor. Load is 45.5g Varget with 150g Nosler BT going around 2700 fps printing sub MOA. Entire package weighs 9 lbs. 11 oz. My hunting is primarily 150-320 yards over an open alfalfa field. Deer numbers...
Maybe it's just my imagination but the more I look at their website the more emails they send me. If I haven't been looking the emails are few and far between. My theory is they've learned not to send too much to people who aren't really interested and end up getting unsubscribed.
To be honest I would consider a PSA AR10. I have an 18" that cost a little more than half (blem version and upper and lower purchased separately) what the Ruger does and only weighs about 1 lb. more. It also shoots sub MOA and functions more reliably than the Ruger.
My 16" version will shoot sub MOA so very impressed with that. It's generally reliable but for some reason I'm having occasional stuck cases, both reloads and factory. Usually with spent brass but sometimes even unfired rounds won't chamber all the way. Not exactly sure what's going on but I...
I've used a good bit of R19 but always with a magnum primer so I guess I was on the right track there. I recently switched to H4350 and regular primers but who knows if that was the right move or not without some cold weather testing.
Very interesting. I like that your testing range includes 50 degrees down to -20. That's a much more relevant temperature range during hunting season in our part of the country than going from 50-100. The fact that you're chilling both the ammo AND the gun leaves no unknown variables in your...
