Gary, Assuming the bill is signed by the Governor, there would be handgun preemption.

Illinois passes veto proof CC bill.

So was Ohio's CCW bill. It improved less than 4 years later and has gotten better ever since.

Big loss for concealed carry in NY court today

Dunno where folks are getting this impression. Try June 2013, and it's not too late to appeal in this term.

    Lawsuit over theater firearm restrictions

Regents of the University of Colorado v. Students for Concealed Carry on Campus Colorado has two separate preemption statutes: The CHL/concealed carry preemption (which allows carry in all areas of the state unless specifically prohibited by STATE law) and the general firearms preemption law...

    Arrest NY Laguardia TeaParty Man

There is currently a civilian case in the US Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit, called Osterweil v. Bartlett which is attacking non-resident carry ban via the civil area.

Will McDonald v. Chicago affect CCW or Open Carry

Btw, you folks are missing a particular case, and that is United States v. Skoien. IllinoisCarry.org thread on this issue, posted originally by me Strict Scrutiny now is in effect in the 7th Circuit of Appeals (which includes illinois) for "self defense". As the firearm was his truck rather...

    Oregon Castle Doctrine??

Oregon used to be a duty to retreat state (which did NOT apply inside of your home) between 1981 and 2007. A case called State v. Sandoval fixed this problem.

    National Right-To-Carry Reciprocity Bill Introduced

I guess the folks not supporting this bill had better demand that New York State, Massachusetts, and others be able to arrest people transporting handguns across those states to another jurisdiction.

    NRA Lawsuit against Washington State

Ok, let's make something clear. Some countries DO NOT ALLOW you to renounce your citizenship. For example, if a Canadian citizen becomes an American citizen, ICE will require you to renounce your previous country's citizenship. However, under Canadian law you are NOT ALLOWED to renounce...

Orange County sheriff taking away hundreds of CCWs

Sent email to Hutchens: Undoubtedly you are getting a tremendous amount of email on the subject so I will try to be a little different. Your new requirements would be constitutional under the 14th amendment if it were not for the existence of PC12031 and PC626.9. Ask your attorneys if you need...

Changing My Stance On Open Carry

You know, what's funny is that it's always the concealed carry only crowd that bashes OC'ers and admonishes them for open carry. I've never seen it the other way around.

Are Standard Cap Mag Bans Vulnerable to Challenge?

Your reading is wrong. The word "reasonable" was only used to deal with the delt with Miller case, and was used all over the dissenting opinion. This implies that it'll be rational basis test, which a mag ban *might* pass through, but Scalia made it very clear it cannot be a rational basis...
