S&w 63 to teach my kids to shoot and for a hunting sidearm. Nice little revolver w/ a 3" barrel and around 26 ounces.

How about the s&w 63? It looks to be a rare breed compared to the 617 and the size of the 63 would be alot better for teaching kids to shoot and better for carry.

I got my hands on a single six today and I think I'm sold. I have never had a single action revolver and feel the single six is a great first. Now the question is do I spring for new or look for used.

Craigc if you could only have one would you choose the single six or the s&w?

Another question is are the older models safe to carry w/ one in the chamber or would I want to carry it w/ it empty?

Which revolver would you say has the best accuracy? Also weight is definitely important since I will use it for hunting from time to time. I am leaning towards a used s&w or a single six. I saw,a model 34 s&w on gunbroker, does anybody know much about that model?

I'm looking for suggestions on a new or used .22 revolver that will be used for hunting, target shooting, and for teaching my kids to shoot. I think a 4" barrel would probably be best for the task and I would like to stay under $800. Thoughts?

New to me Kimber Team Match II. The target was shot out at 25 yrds an hour after I purchased it.

How about the Range Officer in 9mm. It would make a fine range piece but the adjustable sites are not the best for carry.

So I like everything about the cqb elite except for I would want an adjustable rear site and the fact that it is on the high end of my budget. I also like the Les Baer p2 w/ 1.5" gaurantee but would send it off to Alchemy for features found on the cqb elite and I'm guessing when all said and...

If you buy used make sure it comes w/ the eyepiece you want. The eye pieces for the model that I have are now more expensive then it was for the scope itself! Also if you are,using it for target shooting you will want an eyepiece that is fixed in the 25x-27× magnification realm for best clarity.

I have a barska spotting scope and it's junk. I couldn't even make out bullet holes at 100 yrds w/ mine. I saved and purchased a used Kowa spotting scope which is AWESOME! If your on a budget I suggest saving some more $$ and look at used off of craigslist. Mine doesn't have the ed glass but...

Check out smokin-it model 1. I have a wsm 18" and it's a great charcoal smoker but you need to check on it every hour or so while smoking. You will not get the all mighty smoke ring w/ electric or propane...you need the combustion of the charcoal or a lot of wood to get that. You could cheat...

Also I live in pa where I can't shoot center fire rifles to hunt so the .17hmr is close to the most accurate rim fire that I'm allowed to use.
