i dont understand how... that thread shows 300 grain 460s&w round going abit over 2000 fps in a 20 inch barrel. Now thats not a max load, 4 more grains is max so whats that gonna give you? 2200-2300? Still not all that impressive to me considering it shoots 300 grs at near 1800ish from stock 8...
i hear yah on that. I wanteda big bore gun myself and this i was lucky to get :)
I still hope to buy a 458 win mag or build something else thats big just because i like big bores.
I really want a double rifle in 45/70 gov or possibly 458 win mag, but i like the gov since its more...
both pads are soft enough to tame recoil. I dont think you could go wrong with either one.
But definately look into practicing more to get used to the recoil. I was able to work my way up 3 1/2inch buckshot shells and can somewhat comfortably manage it, and i dont have a great recoil pad
yep, also own a model 65 from browning in 218 bee. i got a scout style 4x scope mounted on it too, with a special barrel clamp style mount infront of the foregrip.
very sweet gun, i just got it late last year and only shot it a few times so far
i hope to take out some of the coyotes around my friends camp as well as were i hunt. They do damage the deer herd thats for sure.
I shot a doe a few years ago in a herd of about 15. As they went by i saw a coyote or two trailing them close. Couldnt get a shot. they run those deer tired
foxes seem abit rare around here now too, i havent seen many or know many who have caught any in traps or hunted them. Coyotes tho we do have a good share of, but they are very hard to hunt. PA coyotes are cautious animals and pretty cunning
totally recoiless is one thing but taming recoil of a large round like a 338-378 weatherby down to that of a 223 is easier to do.
requires a 30 lb bench gun and a muzzle brake. gun jumps alittle but recoil is almost non existant.
Been along time coming. I had been going out for a while now and never got lucky. My 2 best chances came when i wasnt even hunting for fox! Archery deer, i sent an arrow over a nice red fox and small game i skimmed one with a 22, and was unable to connect with a better shot.
Me and my...
And i got to shoot it today... :)
My uncle had a remington 700 chambered in this .416 Remington Mag round and i always wanted a gun like this. So he let me have it. I was so happy
Dont have a pic at the moment but its a basic 700 remington, with somewhat satin finish wood stock, blued...
funny you mention that cuz i do have an older 20 gauge standard weight wingmaster and a newer lightweight frame 20 gauge wingmaster, but i still think its fairly old, and BOTH of them have crisp triggers. the older gun is very crisp but has abit more pull weight to the trigger. the newer...
that does look interesting, i'll have to look into that. Nice wide fat trigger would feel good too tho.
I have a similar problem with my swedish mauser...has way too much creep in the trigger, then you feel the set point, and alittle bit more pressure, it goes off. I dont like it. Makes...
i think the way the stock aligns could be the problem. changing the angle in which the stock meets the reciever could throw your barrel up at a angle.
you need to shim that angle back to stock. try measuring it and see how it looks. that copstock sounds like its not allowing you to align...
