A friend asked me for a .22 recommendation

I would suggest a revolver like the single six. They're incredibly accurate, hard to mistreat, and if you get a convertible model, you can also fire .22 mag through it. I've fired a few automatic .22s, and while the Mk.II/Mk.IIIs recommended above are great little guns, they don't seem to like...

    what does everyone else have

Not a whole lot of quality guns, but I have quite a few cheaper ones. Pistols: Webley in .455 Tokarev Walther P-38 2x Tariq Uberti Walker Colt BP replica Mosin-Nagant 1896 Ruger Single Six convertible A poorly built norinco 1911 rip-off Rifles/Shotties: 2x Lee-Enfields (sporterized :( )...

    ugly guns

My Webley is just about as ugly as that hammerless Enfield up there - the birdshead grip doesn't help it much. I personally think the Tokarev takes the cake though, to me it looks like something a 5th grader would draw. Anything with colored paint (pink camo Rugers come to mind) is pretty bad too.

What are my Tariqs really worth?

Hey all, Thanks for the quick replies. Sounds like I did get a deal. We're not allowed to have handguns with barrels shorter than 4 1/8th in., or anything in .25 or .32 unless it's for "legitimate target shooting". You also need to pay more for your gun liscence initially. I personally...

What are my Tariqs really worth?

Hi all, About a year ago I came across a guy selling a pair of Tariq pistols, and managed to pick them up for about C$450 for the both. One of them is a regular looking Tariq, good shape and with the Tariq grips, the other is more or less straight out of the box, but is parkerized and has...

Ocoee Man Fires Back During Home Invasion

I suppose a small woman is supposed to destory the attacker's moral with a series of high-powered screams. We seem to have reached the point where by-standers are scared to help someone being assaulted because they have a pretty decent chance of being shipped off to a prison for doing so...

Foreign Gun Owners(outside US members)...Show your stuff...

    We're not totally gunless! I don't have a camera, but here's what's in my gun cabinet: CZ 858 7.62 x 39mm w/folding stock - They're only about 700$ Cdn up here, weirdly making them more accessable to us than U.S. buyers. Henry GoldenBoy .22lr Lee-Enfield 1916 No.1 .303 Lee-Enfield 1943...

Ocoee Man Fires Back During Home Invasion

You'd go direct to jail for this in Canada. From my understanding: We're allowed to lock ourselves in a room, arm ourselves equally to whatever the invader has, announce we're in there, and only fight back if we've done all that and they still enter the room. If we go after them, we're...

Post WWII Issued Bolt Action Military Rifles

Lee-Enfields are still issued in India (.308) and to the Canadian Rangers (.303). They're also really, really good looking guns, IMO. And they have the longest service history of any military rifle issued, if I remember right. edit: I think Australia used the No.5 jungle carbine for quite...

How do some gun shops stay in business?

I stopped buying at our local store after I went in to finish paying off my SIG 226. The clerk (who was actually one of the smiths, I think) left halfway through the transaction, because one of the other employees walked in with a box of icecream. I waited 15 mins for them to eat and come back...

    Hi-Points?

I've shot a friend's a few times, and it seems to be a pretty decent gun for the price. We aren't allowed to defend ourselves up here, so reliability isn't a huge issue, but his didn't jam once during the hundred or so rounds we put through it. I can see the .40 being useful for hiking and...

    Gunsmith Training

Hello, After almost a year of doing absolutely nothing of value, work wise, I've decided it's time to get a real trade. Gunsmithing is hugely appealing for me, but I'm kind of at a loss as to where to start. Should I go across the country and go to the real school (we only seem to have one in...
