I agree and I also am one. I have many custom rifles and actually only 2 factory ones left of which this 270WSM is one of them. I can spend any amount of time required in pursuit of getting every bit of accuracy from a given rifle. As far as seating a bullet to magazine length and forget...
The130 VLD hunting bullet heel is above the shoulder/neck junction. .010 jump is where it’s at now. Was shooting 3/4” groups yesterday, consistently. I figure if I use the 150 grain which would be seated deep in the body of the case, I will be sacrificing case volume, even if they shoot good...
As I mentioned above
I used my homemade modified case to just see where they touched the lands And how far the bullet was going to be in the case. I never load to touch the lands, however I am very close with a couple of my target rifles. I think I might be .010 with 2-3 hunting ones, but most...

I have a 270 WSM that I would like to try 150 gr bullets in. Currently I am shooting 130 VLD hunting which shoots pretty decently, but I’m not overly happy with the terminal performance. In working up my loads, I have used 130 gr BTs and Sierra GKs, but my rifle wasn’t crazy for either...

I recently looked...
Thanks KodeFore. I have taken it apart a few times. Not too bad of a job. Gets pretty full of carbon though. I’m not interested in a slug barrel. I pretty much keep this for when my friends come down from Canada to visit. The wife generally used it as it is a bit easier on her shoulder...

Just totally disassembled mine cleaned it thoroughly and reassembled. I never looked at the alignment of the slots on the piston rings. I assume that they should be offset? Please advise.
Thanks,

If the original post was read, I was just asking if anyone knew where the VFG items could be bought in the US. That’s all.
Why the questioning of me wanting to try them? It was just a simple question, but I do appreciate being told that I can use whatever I want. If I was looking for magic...
Mitutoyos are very accurate. Beware of fake ones tho. There are many links online to identify the fakes.
I’m sure Starrett is great also. I have 2 of their micrometers and love them
