You're asking all for competitive reasons. I would suggest that some (if not most) of your answers will come from non competitive types. So, .45acp will represent a higher than justified sample.
The only time I notice the trigger on the M&P is when I'm in slow fire, which isn't often.
When I want to stand and plink away tight groups, I grab my 1911.
When I shoot competitions, carry, shoot steel, or general fun @ speed, I grab the M&P.
