The Mossberg was picked because it was the only shotgun submitted. Remington did not bother to submit a gun in that runoff. The military did not get the Benelli because of cost, it was function that mattered. The military has a habit in previous days of picking the least expensive alternative.
A little late but this is a three shot group offhand with a Trijicon 1x8 at 100 yards using military surplus. If you do your part the rifle looks accurate.
If the ammo was that bad already I would be concerned about finishing the last 30 rounds. Maybe a jaunt over to the M14 forum will be needed for more information. There are guys that live and breath the M1A there.
I bought one and love it because of the weight. I am using a Trijicon 1-8 on it and it weighs less than my AR-10 w/o scope. I started on M1's so it has been a little more than 13 days, my brain is fine and my @#$% is fine too. Thanks for the concern though. :neener:
If I take a gun shooting I will swab the bore and the gun afterwards unless they are used heavily. I check the lube before shooting. Other than that, all of my guns get an annual cleaning. I cleaned guns to white glove in the USMC and do not see the point in that anymore. We used to...
