Recently picked up a 66-2 (S/N AUY93xx) with 6" barrel. It has the target hammer and trigger (if that means anything?) Anyone know the DOB? Thanks in advance! Here is a pic...
Thanks bud!! I was incredibly nervous when the hacksaw hit the metal, but there was something wrong with the accuracy. Whatever it was seems to have been fixed with the 2 inches removed.
Here's my thread from a couple years ago if you are interested. I've since had the original sight...
I have the 44 Mag.
It is not a 629, but it works for what I need it for.
Last time I shot it the cylinder jumped halfway to the next chamber. This only happened on MAX powered loads. The medium and 44 special loads were fine. I think it is just needs a new cylinder notch spring. Mine...
With your intended purpose I would go with the SP (in 2.25" or 3").
IMO the Security Six is the best GP (general purpose) revolver and the SP (special purpose) is the best for packing all day.

Thanks bigtubby, congrats on your new find and show us some pics!
I was converted from the GP to the Security Six about 4 years ago. I still have one GP left after trading another for a Security Six. And I might trade off my last GP for another Security Six as well. I really have no use...
Congrats on a good deal for a great gun! I have a couple myself including a stainless snubby.
Numrichs has almost everything for the Security Six at a reasonable price.
Give us some pics when she's all done.

Thanks Driftwood for all the information! The condition is about the same as the one in the closed auction in my last post.
I say cosmetic condition "average" because I don't know what I'm talking about.:( I guess bluing about 65% with several scuffs and small dings, but the action is like...
Thanks guys. Yes, 38 special and pencil barrel.
Here is a closed auction of a similar gun with the same markings on the grip.
