The only thing i do not like with the Xd is that Glock is better. Glock is simple only 2 controls. Slide lock and magazine release. Reliability is unquestionable. The trigger reset of Glock is very short so you'll be able to shoot multiple times fast. No grip safety to fool around. The...
Night sights are not gimmick. There are real applications for them mostly for defense weapons. We need to always train to manage our trigger and look at our sights no matter what is the lighting condition.
Just in months mine changed as well.
if i could only have 3 guns, I will keep my tactical 3-gun rig.
Noveske 18" Rogue Hunter Rifle 5.56
Benelli M2 12 GA shotgun
Glock 17 Pistol
With those 3 i could train, compete and defend.
I thought Wilson and Les Baer are expensive! When you start seeing John Harrison, Heirloom Precision custom 1911, those Wilson, Ed Brown specially Dan Wesson are bargain. At the same token Kimbers are expensive for what they ask for their weapons.
CCW is a way of life. When you CCW ask yourself are you being an asset to the society or a liabilty. Have sense of humor when family / friends give you flak for carrying. Eventually they will get used to it.
you don't tell no one. you don't discuss about it even forced. and you always carry it consistently. Try to conceal well without any bulging. Mind your wardrobe.
Nope. An HK USP Compact. I bought it because if ads and reviews. The gun doesn't fit my hand. Also don't like DA/SA. Now have a lot of 1911's, Glock, AR, Shotgun
The competition in USPSA, IDPA, Multigun is keeping my interest high all the time. Regular training also i'm into custom 1911 and that field is very exciting because most of it i cannot afford.
Nice, nice weapon. Watch out for the fit of firing pin block in relation to your extractor. Wilson is still semi-production and i'm not sure if "clocking" was taken care of. Maybe you want to replace that firing pin block by an EGW oversized then hand fit it with the Wilson extractor...
Maybe colt holds it value because it doesn't use as much MIM parts like Kimber does. And maybe because Colt has a tradition and has been improving it's products lately?
Gen 4
If not for Gen 4 glock 17, I will still remain in my 1911 world and maybe sucked up to M&P. Not all hands fit in Gen 3. Aggressive grip?? Look at IDPA. IPSC, Military grips. That 4th gen grip is not grippy enough. And jamholic, why is it that my Gen 4 is so reliable?
Any news on...
Also beware of aluminum frames if you are planning to use hollowpoints. They will pound/not slide smoothly to your aluminum feedramps.
Also consider a colt. Colt uses less MIM parts and command better resale value. A Kimber has lower resale value because of the quality of it's parts...
