Brass comes out to the LEFT anywhere from 8 to 11 o'clock. The only dents I'm seeing are on the case head. Nothing major. I've gotten 6 reloads on some of the test blank cases with no case failures so far.
6.5 Grendel would be a good fit since these mags are ~.2" longer than the 7.62x39 mags so you can stuff a bit more powder in it safely.
I'm getting ~2500FPS from Hornady 123g SST out of the 7.62x45 without maxing them out. I get like ~2200FPS out of the 7.62x39 with the same bullet.
After a bit of work I was able to make enough ammo to actually enjoy my VZ-52. This gun has a very nice bore and shoots perfectly with the "new" ammo. The ammo was made from PPU 7.62x39 blanks. I posted a bit about this in the Reloading section if you are interested.
I've reloaded many 223 blanks over the years as 300 Blackouts and never had any abnormal failures.
The PSI for the 7.62x45 is like ~65k. I'm only loading around ~35k to 40k PSI, just enough to cycle the action reliably. I've had one case head separation out of 10 on the 6th load of a blank case.
No. I'n not sure what that would do for me. I do use the 7.62x45 die to size them prior to fire forming. After the first firing, the fire forming, headspace is no longer an issue.
Oh I see what you are saying. That could work. I'll try a few on the next batch.
I got a few hundred of the PPU 7.62x39 Blanks to play with and so far the results have been good. I've fiddled with my process a bit and I think I have it down to a workable process. No machining required.

I have a supply of Buffalo Arms Hornady 220 Swift converted to 7.62x45. They work fine, but are like $2 each. Just for the hell of it I got some PPU 7.62x39 blanks to try and convert them to 7.62x45.
1st attempt - clipped off end of live blank with snips. Dumped powder, opened up end of blank...
I use Hi-Tek coating on all my handgun bullets. I could properly mark the boxes and / or use two different coating colors. I coat them before I size them so it should be simple enough to keep them differentiated.
I was having issues making good, reliable .32ACP ammo with lead bullets so I went back to basics and slugged a few bores.
Quite a variation in bore sizes. No wonder I was having issues with the CZ's chambering & working properly with the lead bullet loads. The Remington 51 is fairly new and I...
Every gun we own has been shot. Most within 24hrs of acquisition. No matter how weird or rare.
*HK P7M8, HK P7M10, and HK P7M13 - Owned them all. Totally over rated, over engineered, Kraut garbage. Sold them, don't miss them.
Shot two different CZ Bren 2Ms firearms today and both exhibited poor accuracy, 3 to 6 MOA.
1. 16" Carbine with Sig Tango4 6-24x
2. 11" Pistol with Trijicon Accupoint 1-6x
Also shot a Keltec RDB Survival with a Trijicon RMR 1x and one of my 18" AR's with an off brand crap scope on it at the...
